The Accenture Match Play Championship is one of the four World Golf Championship events. It is the only matchplay tournament on the PGA Tour. The tournament changed venue in 2007 and was staged on the Gallery Course in Tuscon. The event is set to remain on this course for next season.
The tournament is contested by the top 64 players in the world and is a straight knockout. The draw is done on a seed basis with the world number 1 playing the world number 64 in the first round. Each round is played over 18 holes with the final held over 36. |
