The Abu Dhabi Championship is a European Tour event which takes place in January. The current champion is Martin Kaymer from Germany . The tournament was first held in 2006 and takes place at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club in United Arab Emirates. It is one of three events in the middle east.

The Abu Dhabi Championship has attracted a strong field in recent seasons. The golf course is highly rated and there is a generous prize fund. Kaymer blew the field away with opening rounds of 66 and 65. A third round 68 gave him a big lead going into the final day.
