Ian Woosnam was born on March 2nd, 1958 in Oswestry, England. He turned pro in 1976 and won his first tournament in 1982. He finished inside the top 10 on the European Tour between 1983 - 91. In 1991 he won the US Masters and reached the number one spot in the world rankings.
Ian Woosnam was the number one player in the world for 50 weeks. He has won 28 tournaments in Europe and played in eight consecutive Ryder Cups. In 2006 he was the captain of the winning Ryder Cup Team. In recent season Woosnam's game as suffered mainly because of his poor putting. |
