Lee Westwood was born on April 24th, 1973 in Worksop, England. He took up golf at thirteen and was a county champion just two years later. He turned pro in 1993 and won his first European Tour event in 1996, the Volvo Scandanavian Masters. He then dominated European Golf for three seasons.
During the course of three seasons Westwood won twelve tournaments in Europe and was as high as 4th in the world rankings. His form then suffered a massive slump and he slipped out of the top 200 in the World before winning twice more in 2003. |
