Mike Weir was born on May 12th, 1970 in Ontario, Canada. He attended Brigham Young University and turned pro in 1992. He spent the early years of his career playing on the Canadian Tour. He finally joined the PGA Tour in 1998 but lost his card.
Weir went back to Q-School were he came first to win back his tour card. The following year he became the first Canadian for 45 years to win a PGA Tour event in Canada. He went on to win the US Masters in 2003 and claim back to back Nissan Open titles in 2003, 2004. |
