Simon Wakefield was born on April 14th, 1947 in Newcastle, England. He turned pro in 1997 and has visited Q-School on six occasions. In 2002 he had a successful season on the Challenge Tour finishing 9th on the money list to win a place on the European Tour.
He has managed to keep his place on tour although he did have to return to Q-School in 2004. His best finish in a tournament came in 2005 when he was second to Ernie Els at the BMW Asian Open. In 2006 he made 21 cuts and finished the season 60th on the money list. |
