Bob Tway was born on May 4th, 1959 in Oklahoma, USA. He started playing golf at the age of 5 and turned pro in 1981. He was a rookie on the PGA Tour in 1985. The following season he was voted the PGA Player of the year collecting four tournament victories.

One of his wins in 1986 came at the US PGA Championship, Tway's only major victory. He holed a bunker shot from beside the green to beat Greg Norman by two shots. His last victory came in 2003 and in recent seasons he has failed to perform to his best. In 2006 he finished 175th on the money list.
