Henrik Stenson was born in Gothenburg, Sweden on 5th April 1976. He turned pro in 1999 and the following year he won the Challenge Tour. He won the Benson & Hedges International as a rookie. After a few poor seasons Stenson has developed into one of Europe's best players.

Stenson has recorded some excellent victories. He beat Tiger Woods and Ernie Els in a final round showdown to land the 2007 Dubai Desert Classic. Then he won his biggest title of his career at the World Accenture Matchplay. He beat defending champion Geoff Ogilvy 2 & 1 in the final.
