Jamie Spence was born on May 26th, 1963 in Kent England. Before turning pro in 1985 he had a number of jobs including a barman and a labourer. Spence has been a consistent performer on the European Tour for many years and has finished in the top 100 over a dozen times.

In 1992 he won his first tournament at the Canon European Masters. He went into the final round ten shots behind but produced an amazing 60 to win the event. That year he finished 10th on the order of merit, his best ever finish. In 2000 he landed his second victory at the Moroccan Open.
