Heath Slocum was born on February 3rd, 1974 in Louisiana, USA. He attended the University of South Alabama and was a three time All American. He turned pro in 1996 but suffered a severe illness a year later which prevented him playing golf for over eighteen months.

Slocum made his breakthrough in the 2001 season. He was a member of the Nationwide Tour, but three wins in that season earnt him an automatic promotion onto the PGA Tour. Since joining the main tour he has won two tournaments.
