Brett Rumford was born on July 27th, 1977 in Perth, Australia. He took up golf at the age of ten and was introduced to the game by his father. In 1999 he won the ANZ Players Championship in Australia as an amateur. It was a year later that he decided to turn professional.
Rumford has been a member of the European Tour since 2001. His first win came in 2003 when he won the AA St.Omer Open, one of the tour's smaller events. A year later he proved it was not a fluke by winning the Irish Open. Rumford added a third title in 2007 at the European Masters. |
