Andres Romero was born on May 8th, 1981 in Argentina. He started playing golf at the age of 8 and is coached by his uncle. He started his career in Central and South America winning three times. He then finished 14th on the 2005 challenge tour to earn his place on the European Tour.

Romero made a strong impact in his first season on tour. He had some very impressive performances including 2nd at the Scottish Open, T8 in the Open Championship and T4 in the Deutsche Bank Players Championships. These finishes saw him enter the top 100 of the world rankings.
