Alvaro Quiros was born on January 21st 1983 in Spain. He turned pro in 2004 and played on the Challenge Tour in 2006. He performed well to finish 18th in the rankings which included one victory. He then finished 34th at Q-School to secure his European Tour card.

Alvaro Quiros then surprised everyone when he won on his European Tour debut at the Dunhill Championship in South Africa. After a poor first round of 74 Quiros bounced back. A final round of 67 which included four birdies in the final six holes was enough to earn him a one shot victory.
