Ted Purdy was born on August 15th, 1973 in Arizona, USA. He attended the University of Arizona and turned pro in 1996. He first played on the Asian Tour and was rookie of the year in 1997 winning the Indian Masters. In 1998 he earnt his PGA TOur card through Q-school.
He was unable to hold down a place on the PGA Tour and spent several years struggling on the Nationwide Tour. In 2003 he finished 15th on the second tier tour to earn his card back. Then in 2005 he won his first tournament, the EDS Byron Nelson Championship. |
