Chawalit Plaphol was born on August 30th, 1974 in Thailand. He started playing golf at the age of twelve and turned pro in 1996. He plays the majority of his golf on the Asian Tour and often appears in the co-sanctioned events with the European Tour.

In 2005 he came close to winning one of these events finishing T3 in the TCL Classic. This helped to contribute to his best finish on the Asian Tour order of merit, 7th place. He won his 2nd event on the Asian Tour in 2006 coming from six shots behind in the 4th round to win the Bangkok Airways Open.
