Mark Pilkington was born on March 17th, 1978 in Bangor, Wales. His dad was a club professional and introduced Mark to golf at the age of 5. After a successful amateur career he turned pro in 1998. He has spent four seasons on the European Tour with a highest finish of 82nd in 2002.

Over the past few years Pilkington has been playing his golf on the Challenge Tour. He has made a total of six visits to Q-School. He had no need to go in 2006 however after finishing first on the Challenge Tour. A strong finish including a win in Kazakhstan and a T2 at the Grand Final.
