Juvic Pagunsan was born on May 11th, 1978 in Manila, Philippines. He had an excellent amateur career and turned pro late at the age of 27. In 2005, Pagunsan claimed the Thailand, Philippine and Malaysian Amateur Titles. He turned pro in 2006 and was a rookie on the Asian Tour.
He made an immediate impact winning The Country Club Invitational in his home country. This was his first win on the Asian Tour. Then in November he thrilled the European Tour by coming agonizingly close to winning the USB Hong Kong Open, losing out by a shot to Jose Manual Lara. |
