Geoff Ogilvy was born in Adelaide, South Australia on the 11th of June 1977. He turned pro in May 1998 and got his European Tour card at Q-School later that year. In his first two seasons on tour he finished 65th and 48th in the order of merit. In 2001 he switched location and joined the PGA Tour.
Geoff Ogilvy won his first tournament four years later. In 2006 his career really took off when he beat Davis Love III to win the Accenture World Matchplay. Then later in the year he became the first Australian to win a major since 1995 winning the US Open. |
