Arron Oberholser was born on February 2nd, 1975 in California, USA. He attended the San Jose State University before turning pro in 1998. He spent two years on the Canadian Tour and finished 2nd on the order of merit in 2000. He suffered a wrist injury in 2001 and only played three events.

He came 2nd on the Nationwide Tour in 2002 to earn his PGA Tour card. He gradually improved over the following years before making a breakthrough in 2006. He won in style at Pebble Beach to earn his first tour win. Oberholser has a very good swing and sound technique.
