Colin Montgomerie was born in Scotland on the 23rd June, 1963. As an Amateur he played in 2 Walker Cups (1985 and 1987). He then became one of the first British golfers to go to college in America attending the Houston Baptist University.
He turned pro in 1988 and won an incredible 7 order of merits in a row between 1993 and 1999. He has never won a major finishing second or tied second on 5 occasions. In the 2006 US Open at Winged Foot he double bogeyed the last hole when a par would of won him the title. |
