Paul McGinley was born on December 16th, 1966 in Dublin, Ireland. As a boy his main love was gaelic football, but a knee injury forced him to focus on golf. He played in the Walker Cup in 1991 and turned pro later that year with a plus 4 handicap. He is one of the leading players from Ireland.
It was later in 1991 that he secured his European Tour card through Q-school. It wasn't until 1996 that he won his first tournament on tour. Mcginley shot into fame in 2002 when he holed the winning putt in the Ryder Cup. He then netted the Volvo Masters in 2005 for his biggest ever win. |
