Andrew Marshall was born on August 24th, 1973 in Norfolk, England. He turned pro in 1995 but took several years to establish himself. He sold shares in himself for £500 to members of his club in Norfolk in order to raise enough funds to be a tour professional.

His investors were paid off when he finished the 2001 season ranked 4th on the Challenge Tour. After failing to secure his card in his rookie season on the European Tour he finished 8th at the qualifying school. Since then his order of merit position has improved with a best ranking of 73rd in 2006.
