Peter Lonard was born on July 17th, 1967 in Sydney. He turned pro in 1989 and began his career on the PGA Tour of Australasia. He was out of golf for 18 months when he contracted Ross River Fever. He spent three years working as a club pro before joining the European Tour in 1997.
He failed to win a tournament in Europe and moved to the PGA Tour in 2002. Straight away his career improved, winning over $1 million in his first season. He won his first tournament in 2005, the MCI Heritage. Lonard has also been a regular winning in Australia, claiming nine victories. |
