Stephen Leaney was born on March 10th, 1969 in Busselton, Australia. He turned pro in 1992 and won seven tournaments in Australia in the 90's. Between 1998 and 2003 Leaney played on the European Tour. He had lots of success in Europe including four tournament victories.
His first victory came in 1998 at the Dutch Open. He won the tournament again two years later. In his six years on the European Tour, Leaney finished in the top 15 of the order of merit on three occasions. In 2004 he moved to the PGA Tour, but is performances since have been poor. |
