Barry Lane was born on June 21st, 1960 in Middlesex, England. He turned pro in 1976 and made 7 trips to qualifying school. By 1986 he had established himself on the European Tour. Two years later he collected his first victory. He won a tournament each year between 1992-94.
He finished inside the top 10 of the order of merit three times including 5th in 1992. In 1995 Lane won a cool $1 million by winning the Accenture World Championship. His form then dipped in his late thirties. However in 2004 he made a comeback by winning the British Masters. |
