Kent Jones was born on January 8th, 1967 in New Mexico, USA. He turned pro in 1992. He has been a regular on the PGA Tour in recent seasons. Early in his career he traveled around in a recreational vehicle playing the Canadian Tour and Hooters Tour between 1993 and 1995.

He was a rookie on the PGA Tour in 1998 and struggled to keep his card in his early seasons. In 2000 he played on the Nationwide Tour and won twice. He has finished in the top 125 of the money list each year between 2003 - 2006 with a best finish of 101st in 2006.
