Tim Herron was born on February 6th, 1970 in Minnesota, USA. He attended the University of New Mexico and beat Tiger Woods in the 1992 US Amateur. He then played in the Walker Cup in 1993 before turning pro later in the year. Since then Herron has won four times on the PGA Tour.
He played on the Nationwide Tour in 1995 and just a year later he had won his first PGA Tour title. Two more wins followed in the 90's before a seven year gap to his last victory, the 2006 Bank of America Colonial. He picked up the nickname 'Lumpy' which has stuck with him on tour. |
