Richard Green was born on February 19th, 1971 in Australia. He attended the Victoria Institute of Sport and turned pro in 1992. He joined the European Tour in 1996 and a year later won his only tournament beating Ian Woosnam and Greg Norman in a playoff at Dubai.
He was the first left-hander to win on the European Tour since 1975. He is one of the straightest and most consistent players on the tour. He very rarely misses a cut and has worked his way up the World Rankings. He also won the Mastercard Masters in Australia in 2004. |
