Lucas Glover was born on November 12th, 1979 in South Carolina, USA. He attended Clemson University and in 2001 represented his country in the Walker Cup. Later that year he decided to turn pro. He spent the following two seasons on the Nationwide Tour, the second tier tour in America.

In 2003 he finished 17th in the rankings to earn his place on the PGA Tour. A poor season as rookie meant he had to return to Q-school where he regained his tour card. In 2005 he won his first event in spectacular style by holing a bunker shot on the final hole.
