Gary Emerson was born on September 26th, 1963 in Bournemouth, England. He turned pro in 1982 and finally made it onto the European Tour in 1995. He earnt his card through the qualifying school on his 7th attempt. His shear persistence paid off as he won the Cadillac Russian Open in 2004.

Gary Emerson has collected one other victory at the Netcom Norwegian Open in 1998 on the Challenge Tour. His best season to date was in 2005 when he finished 72nd on the order of merit. A year later he finished just four places lower helped by a T2 finish at the British Masters.
