Mattias Eliasson was born on April 2nd, 1975 in Boras, Sweden. He turned pro in 1997 and played for Sweden as an amateur for seven years. Eliasson has saved his best golf for the European Tour Qualifying School. He has had to make seven visits to Q-School, five of them successful.

He has failed to establish himself on the European Tour. It was not until 2006 that the Swede managed to finish in the top 125 of the order of merit. With the help of five top ten finishes in six events at the start of the season, he ended the year 75th place in the rankings.
