Joe Durant was born on April 7th, 1964 in Florida, USA. He turned pro in 1987 but gave up golf in 1991 to sell insurance. A year later he gave the game another go and earnt his PGA Tour card through the Qualifying School. He struggled on the main tour at first.
In 1996 he found himself on the Nationwide Tour but finished 3rd on the rankings. He then won his first tournament in 1998 at the Western Open. His most successful season was in 2001 when he won back to back tournaments and shot 36 under par to win the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic. |
