Robert Damron was born on October 27th, 1972 in Kentucky, USA. He grew up in a rich family and his next door neighbour was Arnold Palmer. Damron was a very good college player winning 5 events. He turned pro in 1994 and has won once on the PGA Tour.

His victory came in 2001 at the Verizon Byron Nelson Classic. In the same event three years later he lost in a playoff. His best finish on the money list came in 2001 when he finished the season ranked 51st. 2006 was a poor season for Damron as he finished 155th place on the money list.
