Fred Couples was born on October 3rd, 1959 in Washington, USA. He attended the University of Houston before turning pro in 1980. Couples earnt himself the nickname 'boom boom' because of his long drives. He has amassed 16 tour victories and one major championship.
He was world number one for sixteen weeks in 1992 and has an excellent record in both the US Masters and Open Championship. He won four consecutive World Cups with Davis Love III between 1992 - 1995. Has struggled with a bad back for several years now. |
