BIO

Darren Clarke was born on August 14th, 1968 in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. He turned pro in 1990 and earnt his card through the Qualifying school. He is one of Europe's leading golfers and has won 10 tournaments.. He has finished 2nd on the European Order of Merit on three occasions.

His biggest win to date came at the WGC World Matchplay in 2000 when he beat Tiger Woods in the final. Clarke has represented Northern Ireland in the World Cup and Alfred Dunhill Cup. He was a leading figure in the 2007 winning European Ryder Cup team.

Darren Clarke won his first title for five years at the 2008 BMW Asian Open. He had a two shot lead with three holes to play but made bogeys at 16 and 17 to drop back into a tie with Robert Jan Derksen. However a birdie on the final hole gave Clarke a one shot win.
