Daniel Chopra was born on December 23rd, 1973 in Stockholm, Sweden. He grew up in India from the age of 7 winning the Indian Junior title at 14. He turned pro in 1992 and played briefly on the European Tour between 1996 and 2002 but struggled to establish himself as a regular.

In 2004 he played in America on the PGA Tour. He also won two Nationwide Tour events in that year. He had a very good season in 2006 which saw him finish the season 54th on the money list. He topped the putting average statistics for that year.
