Paul Casey was born on 21st July, 1977 in Weybridge, England. He took a golf scholarship at Arizona State university where he broke several college records. He played in the 1999 Walker Cup team winning all four of his matches. He also won back to back English Amateur titles.

In 2006 Casey had his best season to date. He won two strokeplay events before landed £1 million at the HSBC Matchplay. He narrowly missed out on winnning the order of merit. He collected win number eight early in 2007 when he won the Abu Dhabi Championship.
