Chad Campbell was born in Texas, USA on May 31st, 1974. He went to the University of Nevada before turning pro in 1996. He started his career playing on the NGA Hooters Tour winning 13 tournaments. He then progressed onto the buy.com Tour, now the Nationwide Tour.

He won three times on the second tier tour in 2001 winning his PGA Tour card for the following season. He stepped into the limelight in 2003 winning the Tour Championship and finishing 7th on the money list. He has won two tournaments since then enhancing his reputation.
