Angel Cabrera was born on 12th September, 1969 in Cordoba, Argentina. He first got involved in golf as a caddie and turned pro at the age of 20. Cabrera made three unsuccessful trips to Q-School. On his fourth attempt Eduardo Romero paid his entry fee and he won his card for the European Tour.
He gradually improved each year and won tournaments in 2001 and 2002. He won the BMW Championship in 2005 before landing the US Open title in 2007. He shot a brilliant final round of 69 to beat Tiger Woods and Jim Furyk by one shot. |
