Jonathan Byrd was born on January 27th, 1978 in South Carolina, USA. His father introduced him to golf at the age of three. He attended the University of Clemson and played in the Walker Cup in 1999. A year later he turned pro and finished 8th on the 2001 Nationwide Tour.
He was then rookie of the year on the 2002 PGA Tour which included a win at the Buick Challenge. He then won his second tournament in 2004, the BC Open. Byrd won a third title in 2007. He went into the John Deere Classic struggling with his game but a final round 66 won him the title. |
