Olin Browne was born on May 22nd, 1959 in Washington DC, USA. He did not start playing golf until the age of 19 and got hooked at college. He turned pro in 1984 and it took him a long time to find success. In 1991 he earnt his place on the PGA Tour by finishing second on the Nationwide Tour.

Browne had to return to the Nationwide Tour after a poor rookie season. This time he finished 7th to again earn his PGA Tour card. It was not until 1998 that he won his first tournament, the Greater Hartford Open. He has won twice since and shot a career low 59 in the 2005 US Open Qualifying.
