Paul Broadhurst was born on August 14th, 1965 in Warwickshire, England. In 1988 he was the leading Amateur in the Open Championship. Later that year Broadhurst turned professional. The following season he joined the European Tour winning his first event and rookie of the year.
In 2000 he suffered a serious injury to his right hand which needed surgery. He was unable to play for the rest of the season and struggled over the nest two years. He finally marked his comeback in 2005 by winning the Open de Portugal which he successfully defended the following year. |
