Markus Brier was born on July 5th, 1968 in Austria. Before turning pro in 1995 he was the Swiss and German amateur champion. He made four unsuccessful trips to Q-School before finishing 3rd on the Challenge Tour in 1999. He has been on the European Tour ever since.
He twice won the Austrian Open when the event was part of the Challenge Tour (2002,04). It was then promoted back to European Tour in 2006 with the new name, BA - CA Golf Open. Brier again won on home soil to claim his first European Tour victory. |
