Thomas Bjorn was born on February 18th, 1971 in Denmark. He turned pro in 1993 and played the Challenge Tour for three years. In 1995 he won four times on the Challenge Tour to earn his European Tour Card. In 1996 he won the Loch Lomond World Invitational as a rookie.
Bjorn became the first Danish golfer to play in the Ryder Cup. He led the Open Championship in 2003 with four holes to play before taking 3 to get out of a bunker. He also collapsed in 2005 European Open. He started the final round with a 6 shot lead only to shoot an 86 and finish T33. |
