Doug Barron was born on July 24th, 196 in Tennessee, USA. He started playing golf at the age of three and turned pro in 1992.

In 1996 he finished 3rd at the Qualifying School to win a place on the PGA Tour. Barron has yet to finish inside the top 100 of the PGA Tour money list.

He managed to retain his card between 1997 and 2001 but his best finish was 108th in 2000. He then had more spells on the Tour in 2003 and 2005 -06. Each time Barron failed to make an impact and after finishing 164th in 2006 he is set for a return to the Nationwide Tour.
