Paul Azinger was born on January 6th, 1960 in Massachusetts, USA. He turned pro in 1981 and won an impressive eleven tournaments between 1987 - 93. Azinger made a real name for himself at the 1987 British Open when he had a real battle with Nick Faldo only to lose out by a single shot.
This was the start of an excellent spell which lasted seven years and finished with a major victory at the 1993 US PGA Championship. He then had to overcome Cancer and returned to win in 2000. He is still playing on the PGA Tour and is the Ryder cup captain in 2008. |
