Woody Austin was born on January 24th, 1964 in Florida, USA. He turned pro in 1986 but suffered a knee injury which ruled him out for two years. He played in Japan between 1989 - 90 and then on the mini tours from 1992 - 93. He then earnt his PGA Tour card by winning Q-School in 1994.
He had a superb first season on the PGA Tour winning the Buick Open. After losing his card he bounced back to win the 2004 Buick Championship. Then in 2007 he shot an amazing final round 62 to win the Stanford St.Jude Classic by five shots. This helped him qualify for the Presidents Cup. |
