Stephen Ames was born on April 28th, 1964 in San Fernando, Trinidad & Tobago. He won a golf scholarship at Boca Raton in the USA. In 1987 he turned pro but struggled with a neck injury. After 5 years in Europe and two wins Ames moved to the PGA Tour.
He made his break through on the PGA Tour by winning the Cialis Western Open in 2004. His biggest moment came in 2006 where he won the Players Championship at Sawgrass. He added a third PGA Tour title in 2007 winning the Children's Miracle Network Classic. |
