There is a very strong field this week as many of the leading players use the tournament as a warm up for next weeks British Open. We have tipped two players on top form.

Lee Westwood comes into the event having finished in the the top 5 of three of his last four tournaments. There is no doubt in his week off he would of been practicing his putting which has let him down slightly in recent weeks. He has won at Loch Lomond before taking the title ten years ago and has finished in the top 30 in his last five appearances.

Soren Hansen is also on top of his game having finished 5th last week in the European Open and 3rd in the Open de France. There are very few players on tour that swing the club better than Soren Hansen and this has led to him becoming one of the tours most consistent ball strikers. He has finished in the top 20 on his last two visits to Loch Lomond so clearly likes the layout.

The John Deere Classic is a regular event on the tour and there is plenty of course from to look at. Many players will be looking for a good week to earn a place in the The Open.

One of Tim Clarks favourites tournaments is the Scottish Open. He has won the event and finished in the top 5. So the fact he has decided to miss that tournament and play at the John Deere Classic would suggest he fancies his chances in America. That proved the case last year when he finished in 2nd place. His form has been patchy but he did record a T2 at Colonial and has made his last four cuts.

Heath Slocum simply loves this course. In his last three visits to the John Deere Classic he has finished T6 - T3 - T13. Combine that with his recent form which includes a 4th place finish at the Travelers Championship and a top 10 in the US Open and Slocum is an obvious choice this week.
