The Turkish Grand Prix is officially called the Petrol Ofiso Turkish Grand Prix. It is a relatively new race introduced to the F1 Championship in 2005. The track at Istanbul Park is also new and provided drivers a tough test in 2005. There were many drivers caught out spinning off the track.

The race takes place in August and is competed over 57 laps. Felipe Massa won the race for a third year running proving he likes the circuit. As he did the previous season Massa started the race off in pole position and despite being overtaken by Hamilton his pit stop strategy helped in win the race,
